K'inich Janaab' Pakal was the most influential king of Palenque, whose face adorns the Temple of Inscriptions. This pendant captures that presence with repousse technique from Taxco — each line of the face emerges from a controlled hammer strike with a chasing tool, every detail the result of hours of precision. It is not casting: it is artisanal decision, strike by strike.

The stones that accompany it — brown Tiger's Eye with its characteristic luminous glow and green Malachite with its natural banding — add visual weight without diminishing delicacy. Hand-setting allows each stone to shine without overwhelming the king's face. Sterling .925 with hallmark, made in Taxco: it is the stamp of authenticity that accompanies every Arte Taxco piece.

Taxco has been the world capital of artisanal silversmithing for 500 years. The Art Taxco story is the story of that craft: masters teaching other masters, techniques refined century after century. This pendant is one more act in that chain. Its purpose is to be worn — placed on the chest, seen in the mirror, told in stories. That's why we make it with the same rigor as a relic.

Buy risk-free. When you decide you no longer want it — in a year, in ten, never — we buy back your pendant up to 35% in store credit, with no expiration. Your silver always has value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it come with a chain?
R: No. The price is for the pendant alone. We offer silver chains in 45, 60, and 70 cm — write to hola@artetaxco.mx for pricing and availability.

Q: What is repousse?
R: A Taxco technique that creates relief from the back with chasing tools. Every piece is unique because every strike is — no mold, no two alike.

Q: What do the stones mean?
R: Tiger's Eye represents protection and clarity; Malachite, transformation and connection to the earth. Both are natural and work together in this face of the king.
