This pendant recreates the Aztec Calendar, one of the most recognizable symbols of Prehispanic cosmology. At 5 cm long, it's noticeable when worn, yet fits discretely in a pocket. The deep relief captures all 20 deities of the Mesoamerican calendar surrounding the central Sun face — a design that speaks of cycles, time, and ancestral wisdom. The combined casting and hand-finishing technique preserves every detail of the original, from the inner glyphs to the textured border that frames it.

Sterling .925 with certificate of authenticity and Mexican hallmark stamped on the back. Casting was the path chosen by Taxco silversmiths to honor designs of geometric complexity: where filigree takes hours in twisted threads, casting preserves the entire symbol in one act of creation. Each piece is hand-polished and oxidized so the contrast of light brings out the relief.

Taxco, the world capital of silversmithing for 500 years, remains the heart where pieces like this are cast and hand-finished. The Arte Taxco story is born from that tradition — honoring the craft and Prehispanic identity that lives in every symbol. This pendant is not an accessory: it is a reminder that time is cyclical, and that ancient forms still speak.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it come with a chain?
A: No. The pendant is sold alone at 5 cm. This gives you freedom to choose the chain that best matches your style. Write us if you'd like suggestions on lengths and gauges.

Q: Is the Aztec calendar authentic?
A: Yes. The design faithfully recreates the Piedra del Sol, a Prehispanic symbol of Mexico. The piece honors that iconography without copying — it's a sterling .925 interpretation assembled in Taxco.

Q: Can I order a chain with the pendant?
A: Absolutely. Email hola@artetaxco.mx with your preferred length and chain type, and we'll assemble it for you.

Do You Have Silver You No Longer Wear?
